Behringer Ucontrol Uca200 Drivers Download Fixed Free May 2026

The Behringer U-Control UCA200 is a "plug-and-play" device, meaning it is class-compliant and does not require dedicated drivers to function on modern operating systems.  Official Driver Status

Windows & macOS: No manual driver installation is required for basic recording and playback. When you plug the device into a USB port, your computer should automatically recognize it as a "USB Audio CODEC".

Official Downloads: While the UCA200 is an older model often bundled with mixers (like the XENYX series), Behringer provides general software and legacy ASIO drivers on their official downloads page.  Performance Optimization (Windows Only)

If you experience high latency or "lag" when recording on a Windows PC, it is highly recommended to use an ASIO driver:

ASIO4ALL: This is the industry-standard "universal" driver for devices like the UCA200. You can download the latest version for free at the ASIO4ALL official site.

Legacy Behringer ASIO Driver: Some users prefer the older 64-bit Behringer driver (version 2.8.40), which can often be found through community archives like SourceForge.  Troubleshooting

Not Recognized? Check your System Preferences > Sound (Mac) or Settings > Sound (Windows) to ensure "USB Audio CODEC" is selected as your default Input and Output device.

Recording Software: For a free recording tool, experts at Sweetwater suggest Audacity, which works seamlessly with the UCA200.  behringer ucontrol uca200 drivers download free

The Behringer U-Control UCA200 is a class-compliant USB audio interface, meaning it typically does not require manual driver installation on modern operating systems. Download and Driver Overview

Because the device uses native system drivers, there is no "UCA200-specific" standalone installer for most modern users.

Windows 10/11: The device is plug-and-play. It uses the standard Windows USB Audio Class driver.

macOS: No driver is needed. It is recognized instantly by Core Audio on both Intel and Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3) Macs.

ASIO Support: For low-latency professional recording, Behringer previously offered a dedicated ASIO driver (v2.8.40), but it is no longer the primary recommendation for modern systems. Recommended Free Drivers

If you need better performance than the default system drivers provide, use these free options:

Issue 3: Microphone too quiet

Fix: The UCA200 does not have hardware gain knobs (the UCA222 has an input level switch; the UCA200 does not). You must increase gain in software. Right-click the speaker > Sounds > Recording tab > UCA200 > Properties > Levels tab. Slide to 100%.

Free Official Driver Download (Windows Only)

Behringer does not host the UCA200 driver on their main product page anymore (as of 2024–2026), but it remains available through their legacy driver archives and trusted partners.

Overview: Behringer UCA200

The Behringer UCA200 is a simple, bus-powered USB audio interface with RCA line-level inputs/outputs and a dedicated headphone output with monitoring. It’s widely used for:

  • Recording vinyl/cassette tapes to digital
  • Adding extra audio I/O to a laptop
  • Basic podcasting or playback

Key fact: The UCA200 is a USB Audio Class 1.0 compliant device.
This means most modern operating systems recognize it without needing extra drivers.

Step-by-Step Installation on Windows

  1. Do not plug in the UCA200 yet.
  2. Download the official USB_Audio_Series_v2.8.40.exe (or similar).
  3. Right-click → Run as Administrator.
  4. Follow installer prompts (accept license, install ASIO component).
  5. Restart your PC when prompted.
  6. Plug in the UCA200 to a USB port (USB 2.0 or 3.0 works).
  7. Windows will detect it as “Behringer USB Audio”.
  8. Set as default playback/recording device:
    • Right-click speaker icon → Sound → Playback tab → Select “Speakers (Behringer USB Audio)” → Set Default.

Step 2: Troubleshooting (If it didn't work automatically)

If you plugged it in and have no sound or the device isn't showing up, try the following fixes. These are free and built into your system.

Confirming Driver Installation

  • Device Manager → Sound, video, game controllers → “Behringer USB Audio” should appear with no yellow exclamation mark.
  • In your DAW (Audacity, Reaper, etc.):
    • Audio Host: ASIO
    • Device: Behringer USB ASIO Driver

Free Alternative: No Driver at All

For most users (especially on Windows 10/11) – you don’t need a special driver unless you require ASIO.
The default Windows USB Audio driver works for:

  • YouTube, Spotify, Zoom, OBS
  • Basic recording in Audacity (using MME/DirectSound)

Only download the Behringer driver if you need low-latency recording in music software.
