- Vital signs, head-to-toe assessment checklist, pain assessment tools.
- Skills: hand hygiene, PPE, positioning, transfers (body mechanics), bed making.
- Practice: 5 full assessments on classmates/sim man; document each.

Week 2 — Medication administration & IV basics
- Rights of med administration, dosage calc review, safe injection technique, oral/IM/SC/IV routes.
- Skills: prepare and give IM and SC injections, administer PO meds, verify MAR.
- Practice: 10 med administrations, 5 dosage calc problems.

Week 3 — Wound care, sterile technique, and catheter/ostomy care
- Types of dressings, stages of wound healing, dressing change steps, urinary catheter care.
- Skills: sterile dressing change, wound assessment (size, drainage, odor), Foley insertion/securement (if in scope), ostomy pouch care.
- Practice: 5 sterile dressing changes; simulated wound assessments.

Week 4 — Complex skills, documentation, clinical reasoning
- IV infusion administration & troubleshooting, blood product basics (if covered), sepsis/abnormal findings escalation.
- Skills: start peripheral IV (or assist), set infusion pump, convert mL/hr rates, accurate SOAP/SBAR notes.
- Practice: 3 IV starts or pump setups, 10 SBAR handoffs, chart 5 focused notes.
