   • Types of dressings, stages of wound healing, dressing change steps, urinary catheter care.
   • Skills: sterile dressing change, wound assessment (size, drainage, odor), Foley insertion/securement (if in scope), ostomy pouch care.
   • Practice: 5 sterile dressing changes; simulated wound assessments.

4. Week 4 — Complex skills, documentation, clinical reasoning Quick weekly study plan (4 weeks)

   • IV infusion administration & troubleshooting, blood product basics (if covered), sepsis/abnormal findings escalation.
   • Skills: start peripheral IV (or assist), set infusion pump, convert mL/hr rates, accurate SOAP/SBAR notes.
   • Practice: 3 IV starts or pump setups, 10 SBAR handoffs, chart 5 focused notes.

• Speak aloud your rationale during check-offs (e.g., "I performed hand hygiene to reduce infection risk").
• Always state and perform two patient identifiers before touching/medicating.
• Bring a compact assessment sheet and use focused head-to-toe order (inspection, palpation, auscultation where appropriate).
• For sterile fields: open package away from you, keep hands above waist, avoid reaching over the field.
