This is a comprehensive guide to installing Custom ROMs on the Samsung Galaxy A20. Title: [ROM][A20] [Android 14] PureLightOS v3

⚠️ CRITICAL WARNING:

Phase 3: Installing a Custom Recovery (TWRP)

The stock Samsung recovery cannot install custom ROMs. You need TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project).

Note: The Galaxy A20 has a strict verification system (AVB). You must use a specific TWRP image for the A20.

  1. Download TWRP: Search for "TWRP Samsung Galaxy A20" or look for the specific .tar file on XDA Developers forums for your specific model number (e.g., twrp-3.x.x-a20.tar).
  2. Boot into Download Mode again (Vol Up + Vol Down + Insert Cable).
  3. Open Odin3 on your PC.
  4. Click the AP tab and select the downloaded TWRP .tar file.
  5. Ensure only "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" are checked in the Options tab.
  6. Click Start.
  7. Odin will flash TWRP. The phone will reboot automatically.
    • Crucial Step: As soon as the screen goes black, unplug the cable and immediately hold Volume Up + Power to boot directly into TWRP. If you let the phone boot into Android, the stock recovery may overwrite TWRP.

Stick with Stock One UI if:

1. Android Version Updates

Most A20s are stuck on Android 11. Custom ROMs can bring Android 13, 14, or even Android 15 (Beta) to your device. You get Material You design, better privacy controls, and improved notification management.
